mr-barval-imgAt first glance, the name of the wineryMR BARVAL may seem some character detective novel, but it is the mark of the wines produced by Robert Gherardi , Australian winemaker of Italian descent who completed their training working in renowned wineries of Barolo region of Piedmont, since 2009. and all this explains the label name: MR Margaret River, where Rob lives with his family and produces its wines, Barolo and Bar Val Valtellina region in northern Italy where his family comes from.

As we are in Margaret River, the MR BARVAL is a boutique winery that follows a line of classical and traditional production, small-scale, with premium wines made with minimal intervention in the canteen, natural fermentation and from grapes selected with manual harvesting.

In the 2015 harvest, the produced white wines were the Mistral, cut with 67% Viognier and 33% Marsanne and Chardonnay and red wine Nebbiolo. In the 2016 season, they are in production again two white wine and Nebbiolo, as well as a cut of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and Cabernet Reserve.

Taste of Life Tours

Using his knowledge and experience the passion for Italy and its enogastronomica tradition, Rob also created the Taste of Life Tours that offers gastronomic itineraries for discerning customers with packages of a week or even a day at the Barolo region and Valle d’Aosta.With groups of up to 7 people, the scripts include tastings at renowned wineries and boutique wineries in the region, in the presence of their respective winemakers, accommodation and meals both renowned restaurants as those not yet discovered by tourists. The packages are also included visits to regional cheese and chocolate producers. And all this accompanied by Rob himself.
