Partially destemmed Syrah and whole bunch Viognier were co-fermented utilising wild vineyard yeasts. Once daily foot stomping occurred with the wine remaining on skins and stems for 2 weeks before gentle basket pressing to used French oak barriques and maturation in cellar for 8 months.
A low alcohol, light bodied, intriguingly brightly coloured red wine resulted. The nose is packed full of an array of exotic spice, perfume and floral notes. On the palate the wine displays fine, dusty, dry tannins and savoury characters overlaying with delicate perfumed floral, smokey flavours. This wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered and a harmless sediment may remain.
